Story

The life of a bank custodian is very monotonous. He devotes most of his time to desk work everyday. In the weekend, he climbs up mountains and hills to watch the spectacular view there. One day, when he was climbing up a hill he came across a dog. The dog had come and gone repeatedly while he was walking to the top as if that dog was living on this hill and it knew every animal trail in the area. Thanks to the occasional appearance of the dog, he did not get bored. He imagined that dogs became human companions in this way a long time ago. Anyway, he said, “See you later” to that dog and sipped hot coffee. Now, he can see a bird’s eye view of the land. He expected to see the dog again when he went down the hill, but the dog didn’t appear in front of him. Probably it found some other interesting things to do. He felt a bit disappointed but thought to himself he could meet the dog again next time he comes here. After he came back to his home, he released his bird from a cage because he realized animals should be free and keeping a bird as a pet in a small cage is a torture to it. Instead of that, he built a bird feeder in the garden to feed and communicate with them. He was humming the Beatles’ very last song “Free as a Bird” while he was setting a bird feeder.
