I had two primal motivations to start learning English. When I was a small kid, I sometimes played with my American relatives. At that time, they were living in Japan and they were bilinguals. They could easily switch between Japanese and English. I thought they were cool and I decided to speak English as well as they did. English sounds smooth to me. After that, I started to be crazy about rock music. I wanted to know the meanings of the lyrics and sing English songs. These motivations made me an earnest English learner.
