Okinawa: Southern Islands in Japan

One of the most popular recreation areas in my country are the southern islands which is called Okinawa. Japan is vertically long so it has three different climate zones from sub-arctic to sub-tropical. Although most of the land belongs to the temperate zone, Okinawa belongs to the sub-tropical zone. You can enjoy a lot of different marine sports there. There are beautiful coral reefs under the blue ocean.

Since Okinawa’s history is different from main-land Japan's, their food, culture, and dialect are a bit different from Japan. That is also the appealing point for me because I can feel a bit of an exotic feeling there even though it is only domestic travel.

In general, Okinawa’s people are gentle and kind.
