One of my all time favorite movies is Contact, which is based on Carl Sagan’s novel. I would like to explain about this movie and its theme in this essay.
The author Carl Sagan was an astrologist who introduced his knowledge to ordinary people in his bestseller book and popular TV series Cosmos. And then, in this novel and movie, he described his view of the universe with his scientific knowledge plus imagination.
In the movie / reflecting on the movie / Talking about the movie, Jodie Foster was casted as a protagonist in this film/the protagonist of this film, who is searching for ET’s through radio waves coming from outer space. One day, she finally received one radio wave from an ET and in the radio wave, she found/discovered the formula for how to create a warp machine to go deep inside the universe.
This film consists of many elements. Main themes would be, “Are we alone in the universe? What is science? What is religion? And do these main topics connect to sub-topics like academic harassment, fanatic cults, family love and romance, etc.?
These themes and subtopics described in the film create enthralling/riveting/incredible/ecstatic/fantastical/really beautiful images and interesting/thought provoking story line. Actually, after I watched this film, I was overwhelmed and couldn’t leave my seat for awhile. It was the most amazing/mind blowing/ film that I have ever watched.
