Movies and Television became popular in the 20th century. After that these two media have been influencing people’s behavior. I will discuss how movies or television influence people’s behavior in this short essay.
Before movies and television, people were yearning for celebrities in local areas and entertainers were not considered important people. Moreover, some people were looking down on entertainers as riverbank beggars because poor entertainers were living on riverbanks at the time in Japan.
However, the situation dramatically changed after movies and television started. People began to worship and yearn for stars on movies and television. And then, entertainers began to be called celebrities.
Nowadays, people tend to think people who appear on TV and in films are special people and some ordinary people are eager to be famous in TV and films.
In this essay, I discussed how movies or television influence people’s behavior, but now the situation is changing in the 21st century because of micro media on the internet, but that’s another story for another time.
